Sunday Hot Box Yoga
Yep, we're getting more flexible, we're increasing range of motion and it's thanks to Coach Janet and the regular attendees.
Tough Mudder Update & Thank Yous: can't believe you all have got me getting up early on my only day off and running. And then, going to the box and working on my flexibility for another hour. I hate to run, I suck at it and I'm tight as hell. But yes just like I always tell you, "we must work on our weaknesses". . .
A big fat thank you to Shaina and Dan. To Shaina for letting me know I "whined" last week on the trail and we all know what "whining" is a sign of. I thought of you this morning when I got up and was "whining" in my head. I made a conscious effort to not do anything even close to that behavior. And thank you for noticing and making mention of it this morning. And to Dan for with all his "charm and compassion" let me know that my barely sub 12 min mile pace last week was "pathetically slow". Yes Dan it was and just for you, I ran faster today:) I shaved 3 min and 32 s off my 3 mile time last week which put me under an 11 min mile pace. Still "slow" but we are improving.
Thanks to Carol Ann for first doing her run of 4 miles and then running an additional 3 with me just because she is a friend. To Steph & Michelle, my training partners for running those awful 800's in the parking lot with me. To Pete, https://www.ultrasportsmassage.com/ our wonderful CrossFit massage therapist for getting rid of all the knots/tightness in my poor lower legs and feet and structurally realigning me. Thanks to Coach Amy for being there to lead the faster runners and to everyone else that came out today. You guys are an inspiration in many ways.
I still don't like to run over 200 m and would rather be lifting weights but working on your weaknesses improves and carries over to other areas of your life. Since I dish it out on a regular basis, every now and then I need a big helping myself. Just like I said "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger" and I've also learned faster and more flexible.
A healthy and happy Labor Day to all. . .
